As Zeric listened to the exchange, it occurred to him that the bickering and good-natured jibing reminded him very much of the banter that would resound around the guardhouse in Daggerford. If he closed his eyes, he could picture his former comrades.
"Dead now, of course," he muttered to himself as he re-opened his eyes. "After we go see this alchemist, Cath, I should like to stop by a library. I have some matters that require some study before I am ready to go below."
OOC: Paul: PM on way.

Date : Ches the 20th, Year of the the Rogue Dragons (1373 D.R.) Location: The Yawning Portal Time : Early Morning Weather: Raining
The tap room of the Yawning Portal, was unusually busy for so early in the morning. Filled with noise, the tap room smelled of cooking breakfast, smoked bacon, small black sausages that Waterdeep was famous for and eggs are all laid out on tables, the patrons eating them.
In the middle of the tap room, stood Garri conversing with three men, the rest of you notice him handing over some money to each of the four men. Xand sat impassive at his shoulder, not saying anything, She wore her armour now, it looked like she was ready for war, he full helmet on the table beside the talkative teenager. Even he was dressed in studded leather armour, his fashionable clothes now gone.
Spotting the rest of the group he beckoned them over with a wave. "They are all betting on us, given me odds of three to one." He said with a smile. "Thought wed be the big news today, but some nobleman has been killed. Its now the new big thing. Oh well" he motions for you to sit down
OOC- Cath, Rumbleskin and Zeric have arrived at the same time, now Milo, Dace& Maylene, Eneval can all arrive when they want ie whenever you want to post....
Have I missed any one out (like Rumbleskin)?

Rumbleskin lets forth a belly laugh as the youngster divulges the nature of the bets being Thinking taht he may regret the answer, the dwarf asks "Be the bet on when we return or whether we return?".
Girding his loins, the unkempt dwarf sits himself at the nearest table and orders a beer.
"'sides, it's a mighty fine day to be travelin' intae bowls o' th' world!"

"On whether," smiled Garri. "They are offering me odds of five to one against. Id be a fool not to bet a few gold. Still we have to at least spend a few days down there. If I don't come back they keep it after all." he waved his hand at the dwarf. "They cant cover any more bets looks like Ive scared them off" Girding his loins, the unkempt dwarf sits himself at the nearest table and orders a beer. "'sides, it's a mighty fine day to be travelin' intae bowls o' th' world!" "Well a whore's entrance would be better for me Dwarf, but each to their own" giggled the youngster

Cathmhaol strolled into the bar, shrugging his shoulders to settle his armour better. His hair was freshly washed and braided and he'd spent a good hour the night before making sure his weapons were rust-free and razor-sharp.
He spoke briefly to the bar keep and joined the others at the table with a small tankard of ale and a thick slice of bacon bookended by two slabs of fresh bread. "Eat well, lads," he said, "We're takin' rations but ye'll probably no' see hot food ag'in for a while." He took a big bite of his breakfast and raised the tankard in salute to his comrades.

Milo wandered in slightly before the agreed meeting time. He looked much the same as yesterday but this time he had a full backpack, a dagger sheathed on one side of his belt and a sling on the other. He was also playing rather absentmindedly with a silver ring on his finger. Those who looked closely could just make out a faint pattern of alternating wagon wheels and circular shields engraved on it.
He looked up at the group and blinked. Suddenly his enthusiasm returned "So is this really it? We're really going down there? It's a real life adventure? Are we ready? Are we going soon? Do we have time for breakfast? Karasin always says you should have just porridge before going adventuring so you don't feel heavy and bloated but Merric says you should have a full meal before fighting as that means you're not distracted by hunger. I don't like porridge so I was thinking of getting eggs and ham and bread and black pudding. What are you going to eat?"

Zeric made do with the hot food on offer, nibbling away at it with less than gusto. Finished, he pushed his bowl away, stood and tapped Rumbleskin on the shoulder, crooking a finger for him to follow.
<assuming he does>
He indicated an empty table where they would not be disturbed, "Please sit, Rumbleskin..."
OOC: PMs on the way, folks.!!

Rumbleskin takes Cath's advice and tucks heartily into whatever breakfast was available.
the Halfling's entheusiasm was a tonic to the Dwarf and, letting forth a good natured laugh at his prattling, Rumbleskin ruffles Milo's hair and says "Ahh, such entheusiasm. Jus' eat, y'doorknob, an' ye'll be grateful for it when all ye got doon there be trail rations an' cave water."
A smile crept along the dwarf's face with the thought that This is a good place to find myself. These seem like good folk and I have a ourpose...
As the enigmatic sorceror tapped Rumbleskin on the shoulder and motions towards another table, Rumbleskin nods to him and follows...

Dace and Maylene, who'd been in the inn for some time but separated from the rest of the group by the crowd, joined the others for the hot meal.
Dace kept his ears open for local information, listening to gossip and rumour, avoiding the jabbing finger of Maylene who seemed intent on goading him into a reaction, chuckling as she did so.
Dace was dressed in his regular travelling gear, dun-coloured hooded robe, trousers and boots, bristling with swords, knives and a pack.
Around a mouthful of hot food and ale, Dace cleared his throat. "So did you manage to get any provisions for us, Cath?" he asked the group's leader. "It only occured to me this morning that you might want to get us a bunch of healing potions from a local temple, if it's possible. I mean a priest can't be everywhere, right?"

"Aye, we've got hard tack an' dried beef t' keep us goin' for a week or so," said Cathmhaol, "As well as anythin' we can find down there we can eat. Ye'll want t' make sure ye've got fresh water afore ye go."
"As f' magic potions, if'n ye'd wanted 'em, why didn't ye say sooner?" Cathmhaol looked across to Enerval and Xand, "Ye've got contacts at the temples I reckon, so ye need t' nip out an' scrounge us as many healin' potions as ye can. Ye've got an hour, so don't hang around..."
OOC: Mr DM, can you make the necessary changes to our cash for the provisions (and potions, should we get them)?

"The elf maiden over there,Ayeene. Sells potions, Cure Light Wounds are 50 gold. Cure Moderate Wounds are 500gold. You could get some if you want?" replied Garri
OOC- You have about 900gold after the spending, though you have some gems, etc (which you havent sold yet)
In theory you could but 1 moderate and 8 light wounds potions.

OOC:
The idea is each of us has a single potion, for a last ditch self-heal if we go down and the healer is out of range. That's all.

OOC: I concur, assuming there's enough potions to be had.
Garri's young and charming - we'll send him to seal the deal
