Zeric took another sip, " It is therefore imperative that we find our way back to the Waterdeep area and stir up like minded free people to stem the tide of evil that threatens civilisation. But, to tell of how we ended up so far from home, I believe that our Dwarven friend, who is somewhat older than he appears can throw some illumination upon the matter, but to summarise, we descended deeper into the underworld, seeking the control rod for a skyship we found in a cavern in the upper levels. Little did we know that the lower levels were infested with drow - it is due only to a lot of quick-thinking and strong sword arms, that we found our way to Rumbleskin, one of the original inhabitants of the Dwarven Delve, who revealed a magical portal to us. Beset by overwhelming numbers of drow, we were left with little option but to retreat via the portal, which transported us here... <Rumbleskin> The unkempt dwarf raised the tankard to his lips and drank deeply. Wiping his mouth, moustache and beard with his armoured wrist, the dwarf spluttered: "Now there be a tale an' no mistake..." Rumbleskin clomped around the table and plopped himself on a chair... "It was the year 1044 and tha' Iron halls o' me clan Ironeater were supportin' th'armies o' th' Elves, Humans an' halfpints at th'battle o' Lizard Marsh 'gainst tha' host o' tha' Lizard King Sssakathka.
"Now, to me, I were in tha' fight yesterday but it seems a long time have passed since.
"Anyroad, th' Duke o' Daggerford killed his Lizard bastardness an' tha tables was turnin. Tha' demons were attackin' tha Yuan-Ti as much as us on their way oot o' th' battle an' th' Lizard men and serpents was goin' back to their own ways.
"Well, we figured we'd off home an' raise a tankard an' such to a good scrap when th'Ironhold was hit fro' below by Mind Flayers an' such an' we was fightin' a retreat to regroup an' get our home back.
"On tha way, the clan artificers an' such were leavin' all sorts o' surprises for anyone daft enough t'come fer us an' I were addin' tha last touches to tha' pool room when sumat' hit me fro' behind an' next I know, ye lot" Rumbleskin indicates the adventurers around him with the exception of the Elf... "Ye lot were drenchin' me in water an' me home was full o' dust'n'Drow..."Finishing his longest speech in centuries, the dwarf slumps against the table and drains teh rest of the tankard...

OOC- super duper post. Absoulutely top notch. So have a few Korma's. The ad libbing is superb.
Of course given that the Dwarf has been in sus an for 300 or so years, his memory may be a little fractured

OOC: Aww shucks... Thanks DM - and yes, I'm afraid I took a few liberties and kinda got some of the orders muddled and stuff, but as you say, poor old Rumblie's a bit fried at the moment...

Zeric nodded in agreement with the dwarf, "Aye, Eneval. The lizards we encountered in the marshes were babbling something about the return of their ancient king, Ssakattha... I presume it's a matter of those working the strings of the lizardmen agitating a few ancient legends to inspire some patriotic fervour that meets their ends in furthering their plans of conquest by fomenting chaos."

<Rumbleskin>
At the mention of Sssakathka Rumbleskin spurts the rest of his last mouthful of drink over his tankard and the table...
"Wha'? Now that be somat you didn't tell old Rumblie... Sssakathka back?
"Now, I ken tha Lizard High Muckamucks be an' abomination o' Demon an' Lizardman mix - an' there were talk o' Sssakathka had a pet Djinni as a distant cousin' or some such tale, but we all figured him fer kobbold kebab meat...
"If there be rumour o' him bein' a boot, then it may be a snip more than scaley fire talk..."
Rumbleskin shook out his beard once more and looked dejectedly into his tankard...
"Still, at least it should be a scrap ta' rememmer..."

OOC: Fantastic!! Nice RP.
"I think that certain information was not shared, Zeric told the dwarf. "Remember, we were a little busy with the drow trying to massacre us and all that. Just what do you remember about this Lizard King, Rumbleskin? Any information, however small, might be the difference between defeat and success..."

<Rumbleskin>
Rumbleskin's cheeks flushed once more at the obviousness of Zeric's statement about the Drow...
"Ye may have a point...
"Well, most a' wha' you be askin' fer, I been done tol' already. The scaly High Wossname were force enough to bring t'gether tha lizard tribes and tha demon hoardes an th'others.
"It took th'combined forces o'tha' Dwarves, Humies, Elves n' Halfpots ta face off again' the invaiding horde.
"Th' Duke o' Daggerford had hissel' a magical sword - probably o' Dwarven craftwork on account o' tha workmanship, but tha's by tha by.
"Yon Sssakathka-ka-ka was stuck by the Duke-o's magic sword an' tha' singin' an' celebratin' began.
"As for tha' details - Rumblie doesnae ken. I be counted - at least I were counted - a young 'un and just there fer tha' scrap. It were up to yon others to figure tha' wheres and th' whys o' it all.
"If ye have some specific questions, I kin see if anythin' jumps tae mind, but I cannae promis much..."

OOC - It'll be a indian restraunt if I keep giving out Korma's the way this is going.
There is actually a surprising piece of "nearly truth" in the ad libbing. Someone is getting 10 korma for that! Well done.

Eneval felt overwhelmed at all he was hearing. He had spent many years in his own lands, learning the wisdom of the Goddess and was , perhaps, naive to such grave perils facing the world.
Furrowing his brow Enval spoke These tales trouble me greatly my friends. My journey here was for a specific purpose and I am due to return as soon as I have more information on this Wizard.
Eneval stood up , taking several paces before turning back toward the group Yet, what is my purpose here if not to help upkeep the honour, good and balance that is the mother? Can I simply walk away when I see her worlds threatened?
I must pray on this my friends.
Eneval found his way to the corner, it seemed clear he needed some time with his thoughts and prayers.
Looking away he uttered Oh, and my apologies friends. I neglected to say that one of those horses was mine. She's a white beauty. You might have seen her

Zeric rolled his eyes in a mocking expression when the priest had commenced kneeling in the corner. Still, it suited his ends... for the moment.
"Excellent!" he exclaimed, without a hint of sarcasm, "Another ally in our glorious struggle 'gainst evil and darkness!"
He nudged Cathmhaol, who seemed to be deep in his cups, "What say you, Cath?"

Cathmhaol stirred from his reverie. "It seems that we ha' mutual enemies an' ye know what they say about enemies o' my enemies..." His voice tailed off and he went quiet.
He looked at Rumbleskin and Eneval, "That's no a ringing endorsement an' for that I'm sorry. I'm tired an' m' ribs feel as if'n they're cracked. I reckon we rest up an' then we'll talk again."
He stood up and made for the stairs. "Zeric - double watches. Wake me f' the dawn shift - I'll take my turn, injured or not."

OOC- If you can give me the list of whose guarding when and where. You are currently in the Inn and where you are sleeping.
The current time is approx 10-11am, but Zeric, Cath, Dace and Delora havent slept for 24 hours, so desperately need the sleep. In theory you need 8 hours minimum of rest, but you may want to extend that to the next morning, the choice though is yours.
The current maps of the inn are as follows.
You havent checked the uppermost level yet......

OOC: Bollocks, forgot about that - put it down to lack of sleep, both IC & OOC!
Anyone want to remind Cath of his oversight?
