Zeric turned to the rest of his companions, " What say the rest of you?" He called over his shoulder, " And you Dace? What is your opinion on the matter?" Dace, who had swung wide and around the Elf and was leaning against a wall nonchalantly, nodded. "You a healer, priest? Always use a healer."

Zeric nodded in agreement with the 'caravan guard's' comment, "Aye, 'tis true enough. In fact, some of our company sport wounds as a result of a few fierce encounters in the Underdark, if you are of a mind to assist them?"
He pulled out his wineskin, offering it to the elf, "Now, about that drink..."

Eneval nodded in agreement Your cause seems just, it will be my pleasure to bring the grace of the Goddess upon your wounds friend
Turning to smile at the dwarf before politely receiving the wine, he said "I'd say you have no idea how much I need this drink but something tells me you'd have every idea friend"

Eneval paused to watch the company depart toward the Inn; bowing his head gently Eneval said a short prayer before following slowly behind.

Dace waited until the Elf departed before following along nonchalantly. When the others entered the inn, Dace performed one more circuit of the inn just to be sure, before entering and taking up position by the door.

Zeric took a seat in the abandoned taproom. He rummaged in his bag, withdrawing a wooden cup, which he placed upon the tabletop.
Gesturing to Eneval, he indicated that he should pour from Zeric's wineskin, "So, Eneval, as we may indeed have a common goal for the moment, tell us more of your quest for the wizard. I sense some degree of animosity towards him... or her?"
Without waiting for a reply, he continued, "Please speak with no reservation. I shall share our tale when we have heard of yours."

Eneval sensing the unease, nodded and replied
I have been sent here by my church. Our church has been seeking this Wizard for over ten years. We knew little of him but we were recently, finally, able to locate him. He was able to do great damage to one of our churches during a time of high worship.
His actions were damaging and gravely insulting to the church. I have beent sent to learn more of him and report. I am warrned that he is far to dangerous for me to approach alone.
I've been here for a couple of days studying this area. There is something wrong here. The forests, normally teeming with life, lie still; Noises and flashes come from the Tower, and yet I have seen nobody enter or leave. These noises happen mostly at night. I have rarely got close as I am warned of the power of this man but I have tried to enter the tower. It is magically sealed - I cannot enter.
There is something wrong here friends,of that I am sure.

<Rumbleskin Ironeater>
Rumbleskin stomped over to the bar and tried to find a couple of tankards that didn't appear too dusty. He then spends a couple of seconds 'cleaning' them with is gauntlets to much squeeking of metal on metal before trudging over to the table and holding them out to Zeric for a fill...
"All this talkin' o' wizards an' stuff is givin' me a thirst. Would ye be so kind?...
"Now, Eneval - I be Rubleskin Ironeater of Clan Ironeater an' I have a question r two for ye iff'n you'd oblige?
"Iff'n oi missed it, well you ken... Nae who does yon hosses belong tae? an' how long since ye have last slept?"
Realising he'd probably spoken out of turn, Rumbleskin's cheeks flushed bright red and he mumbled into his copious beard: "Sorry tae be buttin' in an' all... s'been centuries since I had a drink..."

Pondering these questions and somewhat confused by the latter, Eneval replied
"I am unsure as to whom the horses belong I am afraid. Sleep? I have slept, such as my body has needed it, these past nights friend.

Zeric took his wineskin and poured a serving of wine into Rumbleskin's tankard. He then offered the skin to the others as he began their tale. " We were once part of the Daggerford militia, before seeking our own path as a licensed adventuring company - the Company of the Dagger...
" He took a sip of the wine, feeling the gentle burn of the alcohol heat his chilled bones, " After investigating lizardman attacks upon one of the local lords, we found ourselves offered employment by the murdered Baron Cromm's widow. Anyway, many adventures later, we were hot upon the trail of vagabonds rumoured to be responsible for attacks upon merchant caravans in the region of Daggerford." He took a further small sip of the red wine, " Travelling South to Liam's Hold, we struck out for the rumoured site of one of the attacks, in the company of what we took to be an elven Harper, calling herself Nimen, who by treachery, led us into a system of caverns which were populated by evil denizens. It was there that Nimen turned, betraying us and leaving us to the mercies of one of her compatriots, a Dark Naga who, like many of his kind, could not resist the temptation to outline his fiendish scheme... the eradication of lawful civilisation as we know it in the region surrounding Waterdeep and Daggerford." Zeric took another sip, " It is therefore imperative that we find our way back to the Waterdeep area and stir up like minded free people to stem the tide of evil that threatens civilisation. But, to tell of how we ended up so far from home, I believe that our Dwarven friend, who is somewhat older than he appears can throw some illumination upon the matter, but to summarise, we descended deeper into the underworld, seeking the control rod for a skyship we found in a cavern in the upper levels. Little did we know that the lower levels were infested with drow - it is due only to a lot of quick-thinking and strong sword arms, that we found our way to Rumbleskin, one of the original inhabitants of the Dwarven Delve, who revealed a magical portal to us. Beset by overwhelming numbers of drow, we were left with little option but to retreat via the portal, which transported us here...The young sorceror, drained the last of his cup and continued, " Unfortunately, it seems that in our haste to escape, two of our companions were lost to the drow or worse: captured during a last stand to allow us egress. " OOC: I don't know if Kev's read the archives, but that's how Zeric tells it anyway... Naturally, no mention of Throgbur is made as it seems he has become an embarrassing little secret for our young sorceror...
