Cathmhaol scowled and rolled his eyes in disgust.
"C'mon, we're wastin' time," he snarled, "We'll follow that path an' see where it leads!"

OOC- OK Date : Ches the 7th, Year of the the Rogue Dragons (1373 D.R.) Location : The Edge of the Misty Forest Time : Late Evening Weather: Clear and cold with a few clouds. The stars can be seen in the dark indigo sky
The bridleway meanders along, following roughly a north easterly direction, taking you in the direction of the Misty Forest. Nimen tells what she knows of the Misty Forest. The tribes of Wood Elves that are hostile to outsiders. But that protect this part of the Trade Way from marauding orc tribes that come down from the High Moor. She informs you that the Elves aren't exactly friendly to outsiders, but still manage to protect the area from major attacks. They enjoy a life close to nature and close to the tress, they are freinds of the "so called" mythical forest creatures, like dryads, centaurs and Treants that also live within the area. When Vane scoffs at their existance, Nimen laughs telling them that they are as real as any of the undead he hunts. The journey itself takes over five hours before the increase of trees lining the path, suggests the beginning of the forest and possibly the entrance into Wood elf territory. After Nimen talk, this fills you all with some trepidation. The path seems to follow a valley of this wooded area of land before splitting off to the right, up the hill. Semmingly ending at the entrance to a cave on the wooded hill. The Cave entrance is about 100 yards or so away. This is depicted in the map below. Nimen points, "The tracks go up there, to that cave. Do you see it? Its quite visible to elven eyes. Any plans?" she enquires

OOC: Dark green being forest and light being... undergrowth?
If so...
Zeric looked at the terrain with a not-so expert eye, "Well, Dace, you seem to be the one for poking around the wilds; what say you? Blunder up the trail and into the waiting arms of guards, or stick to the forest and be open to ambush?"

If so...Zeric looked at the terrain with a not-so expert eye, " Well, Dace, you seem to be the one for poking around the wilds; what say you? Blunder up the trail and into the waiting arms of guards, or stick to the forest and be open to ambush?" Dace nodded at the question. "I could go ahead and take a closer look if you like? But otherwise I'd recommend I move ahead by a hundred paces or so up the trail and indicate if I see or hear anything."He looked at the others, but his gaze didn't pass to Nimen. "Are any of you capable trackers or good at moving stealthily?"He began checking his equipment, moving it about and checking fastenings, making sure if he were to creep up to the entrance that he wouldn't be heard.

"That sounds like a plan, lad," said Cathmhaol to Dace. "I'd come wi' ye but I'm no too quiet an' ye'd probably be better off on yer own."

"Don't be wandering too far - you'll probably be wanting magical backup and I'm not the most athletic... " Zeric offered.
He addressed the next to the group as a whole, "Should we tether the horses here or take them with us? I don't fancy our chances of remaining stealthy with the horses in tow, however, they would facilitate a hasty retreat if need be."

"Could send the flying cat up t' trail? It wont look to much out o' place in the trees? O' course Dace is as good an alternative"
Vane checked his armour over. Unbuckled his sheild from his back before securing it to his left arm. He tapped his hammer with his hand, listening to the the "ding" it made intently, he smiled and said
"Im ready for anything"

Hopefully it will be enough." replied the cleric looking over his shoulder.

Dace gave his equipment a final look over and nodded to Nimen before moving up the trail.
Keeping to the very edges, he kept in a half-crouch and moved slowly, hoping to avoid contact. His eyes flicked up and down and side to side, looking for twigs, leaves and loose dirt, making as little noise as possible.
As soon as he spotted anyone or anything that didn't belong, he stopped and, if the others were following, indicated for them to stop. He moved back and filled them in on what he had seen, otherwise moving back once he had made further observations.

Zeric watched Dace head off. He reached up to stroke his familiar, "Go with him, my friend. Stick to the tree branches and keep me apprised of the situation. And try not to get distracted by squirrels, eh?"
Zeric opened the mental link with his familiar as she set off with Dace.

Cathmhaol sighed heavily and leant on his sword. "Let's hope they find someone. Nay one wants t' walk into a trap but I'm gettin' bored o' hangin' around!"

Zeric was disquieted, the mental signals from the tressym making him uneasy, "Something strange about that place, Cath... No guards, none of the usual woodland creatures. It's not normal."
