"C'mon then lads, lets not turn down such a generous offer of hospitality", said Cathmhaol and he followed the guards towards the lodge that Hinaar had indicated.

Zeric shrugged, "Why not? After all, we don't want to appear rude, do we?"

Date : Alturiak the 6th, Year of the the Rogue Dragons (1373 D.R.) Location : Wizard's Hold Time : Mid Morning Weather: Snowing lightly
You enter the wooden lodge of the Red Wizards. Inside of the lodge is a single room with a large table dominating its centre with benches set down its length. At its head there is a large chair which is ornately crafted. Your accompanying guard motions for you to sit on the benches.
The peace of the room is suddently interupted by screams coming from outside, a voice rings out. It is that of Hinnaar
"For crimes against the Red wizards, for showing ambition beyond your station. For the slavery of a sentient being, but most importantly for the disobeying of the directive of a superior. You are now sentenced to death. Guards remove her head."
The screams of "No Hinaar" stop immediately and the silence is only interupted by the entrance of Hinnaar into the lodge a couple of minutes later
"So Zeric what is this proposal you want me to hear?!"

"Most Honoured Hinar," Zeric began, careful to keep his tone respectful, "We would ask a boon of the Red Wizards of Thay. As I am sure you are aware, the good name of the Red Wizards has been marred by the foolish and rash actions of your former subordinate."
He nodded to the direction the screams had come from, "Now, whilst you and my companions both know that summary punishment has been delivered in the regrettable matter, it would seem that the reputation of the Red Wizards in these parts may be damaged irrevocably, thus affecting your efforts to establish an ecomimic foothold in the region through peaceable means as is the Thayan way."
Zeric paused a moment before continuing, "We may be able to help somewhat, beyond merely spreading the word of the actions of a rogue element in your party and telling of the swift and righteous justice meted out to the betrayer. However, these actions may be insufficient to restore your organisation's good name in the eyes of superstitious peasants. I propose a mutually beneficial arrangement, if you will hear my proposal?"
Seeing the wizard nod his assent, Zeric continued, "My companions and I have recently formed an adventuring company; Cromm's Daggers. On our first mission, we were tasked with hunting down a tribe of lizardmen, from the swamps who had attacked Cromm's Hold and slain Baron Cromm. In the process of our hunt, we became privy to the information that an ancient threat was arising which was stirring up unrest and atrocity against humans in the Daggerford region."
Zeric went on to tell what Cromm's Daggers had heard regarding the threat of the re-emergence of Sakatha and how this was stirring the lizardmen tribes.
On finishing his tale, Zeric added, "Perhaps the Red Wizards can go some goodly way to restoring their unjustly-tarnished reputation, by providing aid to the prospective "heroes" who shall seek out and eliminate this Sakatha, who poses a threat to the region? I can assure you, Honoured Hinar, that we shall make it goodly clear to all that it was your good graces and assistance that provided immeasurable assistance and made our victory to come possible. The "immeasurable assistance" to which I refer is, of course, magical in nature and involves no risk what soever to members of your mission."

OOC: As you can tell, I'm winging it mightily here... Feel free to jump in where you feel appropriate, Phil, old stick!

"You intrigue me, Zeric, with your offer. How do you propose that we assist you in this fight against the Lizards? My people are unlikely to want to go to war and fight for this area. This isn't the Red Wizards way, we use others to fight our battles for us. So Im not sure how we can help?" She looked puzzled at the sorceror.
"For uncovering the betrayal in the camp, Ill give you three free potions.I might even give you a discount in the future, but beyond this I am unsure at what youd like us to give you in this impending conflict?"

This isn't the Red Wizards way, we use others to fight our battles for us. So Im not sure how we can help?" She looked puzzled at the sorceror. Zeric shook his head, " I did not mean to suggest that the Red Wizards break their policies. No, Hinar, what I meant was that, with the material support of your comrades, we - Cromm's Daggers, can vanquish the threat and share the credit with the Red Wizards. " "For uncovering the betrayal in the camp, I'll give you three free potions. I might even give you a discount in the future, but beyond this I am unsure at what youd like us to give you in this impending conflict?" [/b] [/quote] " As I alluded to, the assistance of the Wizards of Thay, should it be made public by persons of goodly standing within the local community, such as...ourselves, for example, would go a long way towards restoring the damage that will be done to your organisation's reputation when those dullards Cathmhaol emancipated from bondage hit the taverns of the town and begin blabbing their tale to any who will purchase them ale. I merely ask that, in addition to any reward for revealing your underling's plottings, we might call upon you in the future for further magical aid, or indeed training, as you have said, a reduced price would be an acceptable arrangement. How say you? We tell of the assistance and the harsh justice meted out by the Mighty Red Wizards 'pon discovering a foul plot by one of their own to subvert the laws of this Duchy? Also, when we defeat the menace of the lizardmen and are hailed as heroes, we give due credit to The Red Wizards of Thay, without whos assistance, we would not have triumphed."

"In principle I agree to this arrangement. We'll have a mutual assistance pact. We will asist you in any way we can, either by magic assistance, training, or maybe even a Wizard when the need arises. By the same token we can call on you, if needed. Agreed?" Enquired the Hinar

Zeric nodded, "Personally, I agree in principle, Hinar. However, as leader of our company, I think the final decision should rightly be Cathmhaol's."
Zeric deferred to the warrior, raising an enquiring eyebrow.

"The deal is done then. We can consider each other freinds." Replied Hinar. "To seal the deal I have these for you. If youd accept, of course." With that she roles a black circle of material out onto the table into which she sticks her hand and that disapears into what now appears to be a hole in the table. Withdrawing her hand she holds a clear square bottle thats full of some amber liquid. "This is our healing draught. Drink it and your wounds will heal quickly. You can have two of these draughts, Im sure theres another one in here" and with that her arm half disapears again into the hole, pulling out another identical bottle. "Id also like you Zeric to have this one for yourself, it is a potion of eagles splendour. It should increase your already charming manner." She says as she hands Zeric a green bottle with a copper top. OOC - I hope the magic hole comes across

OOC: She carries her hole areound with her? And she can stick her whole hand in her hole? Marvellous! She's indeed talented in the magical arts!
IC:
Zeric nodded graciously, "I thank you on behalf of my companions and also offer heartfelt personal gratitude for this generous gift. Know that you may call Zeric truefriend. I stand in your debt, Wizardess."

OOC: It's still an image, nonetheless... Zeric stowed the potions in his pack for safekeeping, wrapping them in an old shirt. " So, Hinar, do you by chance have a list of available potions or scrolls we might peruse and see what fits our budget?"
