"We'll do that, Ma'am. I'm sure the lads will rest easier f' being fed", replied Cathmhaol.
Sensing the stampede that was about to be unleased in the direction of the Inn, Cathmhaol continued, "Hold hard, lads! There's a couple o' things ye need t' attend t'. Ye all need to stable yer horses an' I need some volunteers f' watchmen. And young Garri, ye need to head o'er t' the house an' make sure there's space f' everyone t' sleep".
He looked at the faces of the men before him and grinned. "Welcome to Cromm's Daggers!" he said.
OOC: Who's paying for the food, is this supplied by the Duchess?

"We'll find out when we get there but first, ye need to check out the house", said Cathmhaol pointing the youth in the direction of the dwelling they had stayed in the night before.
"If'n it ain't big enough, ha' a look around and find an empty place we can use", he continued, "We'll see ye in the inn".

Date : Alturiak the 5th, Year of the the Rogue Dragons (1373 D.R.) Location : Robin Breast Inn Time : early Evening Weather: Snow starting to fall[/b]
The snow starts to fall as you approach the Inn opposite the Baronesses house. The outside seems to have been superficially damaged by fire but the building seems intact. A half burnt sign sits outside on a pole. You deduce that it depicted a Robin witha red breast on a bright green background.
As you step inside this inn, you immediately notice that there are only 15 customers in a tavern room that supposedly is usually packed with fellows. Most of the customers appear to be local farmers or artisans. Unsurprisingly there are absolutely no merchants given the events of the last few days. However, if this keeps up there could be a shortage of supplies very quickly in the village.
The portly, middle-aged innkeeper is standing behind his bar. As you enter, he perks up a bit and calls out,
"Well met good fellows. My name is William. I take it you are the group who stopped the attack on the village. You are heroes! Have the first round is on the house. What might be your pleasure?"
As you complete your survey of the room, you can see that there is only one fellow of note: a long, lanky man clad in leather jerkin and green, sitting alone in a corner. He is softly plucking on a stringed instrument. He starts singing the following song
Sakatha once was the Great Lizard King, Said to have power stored in a ring. O'er swamplands and plains lands his dominions they spread; His very name filled all creatures with dread.
To build his great tomb in the midst of the marsh, Many men died in slavery most harsh. His minions took all of our best for his altar; Not for a day did his bloody thirst falter.
Then there arose the great Duke of Daggerford The greatest of heroes in those days of old; He slew Sakatha in the Battle of the Lizards; The Lizard Men carried their slaughtered chief homeward.
And now he awaits in the cold sleep of death His day of awakening, his first newborn breath. Though deep in the ground his followers closed him, He'll come back for vengeance on those who opposed him.[/i]

"Aye, I'm Cathmhaol - the new commander o' the guard, an' these are my lads. I'll ha' a flagon o' ale - they'll ha' the same".
Cathmhaol took a big slurp of his ale and settled down on a stool next to the bar. "Seems quiet in here - no merchants? Ha' any been through since the attack?"

Nodding at Cathmhaol's comments. "No merchants been in recently, theres usually a good half dozen in at the start of the year, looking to sell their goods quick. Im hoping they are all stuck on the road. Somewhere."
He then shouts across the bar. "Oi Pluck I wish you didnt play that song, you know its nothing but a tale to frighten young kids. After the attack people are beginning to worry about superstition again. So keep that one under lock and key for a few days."
The minstrel nodded grimly

Zeric ordered a goblet of red wine, thanked the barman and wandered over to the minstrel, "What was that song you just sang? It seems interesting, tell me a little more about it, please?"

I reckon I'd best be takin' a look in the morn'", said Cathmhaol. He took another drink. "So, apart from the attack, what else is new aroun' here?"

"Well met traveller. My name is Pluck." Replied the minstrel "That song is a folk tale from around these parts. It tells of the Sakatha, a dreaded Lizard King. Who united the lizard men tribes and attacked the armies of men. After a bloody battle he was repelled and killed. That's it really. As William said its a story to frighten children."

Just the usual, though we are desperate for the merchants to come. We have things to buy and sell in the village." He replied pouring another beer.

OOC: Give him enough for two flagons of ale.Zeric sidled over to Cathmhaol. He bowed his head in close to the warrior and whispered, " Remember the lizardmen who spoke of the Blue Feather Tribe - the one's who attacked the Hold? The Red lizardman said the Blue Feathers were followers of this Sakatha. It seems there might be a little more to this children's tale than meets the eye, Cathmhaol..."
