OOC: I'm assuming that Dace hasn't seen anything and reports back to that effect.
"I'm reckonin' that Throgbur would ha' gone straight f' the centre," said Cathmhaol, "An' I'd happily take the chance t' run the bastard though, but we'll stay out o' his way f' now. Let the denizens o' this fair realm chip away at him f' a bit first."
"Dace lad, we're going right at that junction[3], so go scout ahead. Rumblie, ye back him up. The rest o' yers get ready - we're moving out."

Dace returned when beckoned, and, after a quick conflab with Cathmhaol, nodded and went back to the junction with Rumbleskin.
Passing the Dwarf he patted him on the shoulder and turned right, toward the T-junction, turning right and heading as far as he could, keeping an eye open to make sure he was being backed up within sight...

The party walk follow Dace, who led them in the direction that Cath had stated. Turning the corner your noses fill with a faint spicy odour, it disappears and comes back like in waves. "Nice smell" comments Maylene with a low giggle, "new after shave stud." At the crossroads you stop and then there is a far off screaming noise somewhere beyond to the left. It grows louder before being cut off suddenly! You realise that its a female voice! OOC- Actions? The scream echoes around, its from the left but distance is fairly indeterminable

OOC: Milo will have wanted to make sure both doors to the arcane room were shut before leaving there, if the DM doesn't mind that being retroed in.
"What was the sound? Are we going to help? Who do you think it is?" Milo burbled as he once again readied his sling.

"Dace - check that corridor! Rumblie - keep an eye on that door," order Cathmhaol sharply. He looked down at Milo. "I've no idea," he said, "But keep that ready - ye might need it."

Rumbeskin backs Dace up and follows Cath's orders as the party progresses.
The screams at the junction remind Rummbleskin of a time now three hundred years past when it would have been his kin screaming like that underground.
The uncouth dwarf's eyes narrow and his grip tightens slightly on his weapons as he silently promises vengence for his lost clan...

OOC:
Cheers Paul. Curse my FTP server!
IC:Dace waits until he can see Rumbleskin appear at point 3, before motioning for him to stop. He then takes a peek around the corner at point 2... Slightly nervous of a dead-end, he's suspicious... If the dead-end yields nothing, no traps or hidden doors, he shrugs, waves to Rumbleskin to move down (to point 1) and then moves up to point 4... Here he listens at the door, checking to see if the door could be opened, but without actually opening it. He also looks around for traps and hidden areas, etc. Assuming nothing further happens, when Rumbleskin appears at point 1, Dace continues cautiously on to point 5 for a look-around, just to make sure that IF Cathmhaol decides to go through that door, then their back is secure (or as secure as it can be).

With Dace off scouting, Cathmhaol beckoned Garri to him. He pointed to the door they were standing next to and cupped his ear, indicating that the halfing should listen at the door.

Dace returns and motions to Cathmhaol to join him; he then settles back on his haunches, dimming the lantern and leaning against a wall, legs bent and facing the long passageway.
Assuming Cathmhaol and/or others join him, Dace motions to the right, speaking in hushed tones. "Hidden door that way. Looks like it might join up with the well room."
Motioning ahead Dace points to the door. "Opens easily, couldn't hear anything. Passage goes on some way, beyond lantern range."
He takes a single swig from his canteen. "What do you think? I don't like pressing forward with all these doors at our back."

"Nor me," grunted Cathmhaol in reply. "But I reckon we've gotta take a chance at some point." He stood and thought a moment. "Check out that secret door an' make sure there's no one lurkin' ahind there, then we'll think about doin' one o' these rooms," he said quietly.
Sending Dace off with a nod of his head, Cathmhaol indicated to the rest that they should close up, not liking how they were spread out with doors opening into the midst of the group.

Dace nodded and went forward to the hidden door. He spent a few seconds opening it, before blinking and grinning to himself. He also clocked the mechanism before returning to Cathmhaol.
"Chief, that door is one-way and leads back the well-room. Nice hidden exit, that."
Dace moved toward the next door (point 4) and raised his eyebrows as if to say "This one?"
