Nodding at Garri, Dace leant back in his chair. "You understand I had to ask?"
When the Halfling arrived, Dace blinked from the confines of his hood and shook his head. "Never travelled with a Halfling before." he said, adopting a smile.

"Never travelled with a Halfling before." he said, adopting a smile. "Yeah I know. Sounds unlikely 15 year old kid escaping demons, dragons and Lizard Kings. Maybe the fiend didn't consider me a threat as such?" Garri replied and kind of shrugged it off, his face pale and dark for a second before becoming a grin again. "Whilst we wait for the archer to come in, are we equipped to go down the well? Theres just one rule we need to remember, it costs a golden lion to go down and one more to come back up, per person. Just make sure you have that coin at all times stashed safely" he pointed towards the bar, where a man in a grey/black cloak stood ordering a drink. "That's him, I knew Id remember his name Steffan Darkboots, tracker, hunter, guide." He said almost triumphantly Maylene chuckled at the youngster exuberance, nudged Dace in the ribs "Another dark and moody bugger, thought one was more than enough. Eh Stud?" the curls in her hair bouncing with her playful laugh

Garri stood up and shouted across the tap room, again. "Steffan get yourself over here, 'm with my friends that I told you about."
The tall, bearded man walked across the floor towards the table, nodded and grunted towards the group "What is it you want youngster. Ive told you Im not taking you and that priest into Undermountain. " he said gruffly

Zeric sat back in his chair, content for the moment to observe, letting the banter wash over him. He could imagine, just for an instant, that they were back in Daggerford, the old patrol together again.
He let his eyes study the two newcomers, the wizard and the archer - welcome additions, he hoped, to boost their numbers and make their chances of surviving Undermountain that little bit more possible...
Inevitably, his thoughts turned to his twin and his face darkened as though a cloud had passed overhead. Throgbur.

Cathmhaol appraised the elf coolly. "Garri asked ye over t' meet us," he said, indicating the company sat around the table, "but if ye're no interested in goin' t' Undermountain then ye're not the one f' us."

"Well take a seat an' we'll talk about it," said Cathmhaol, nudging a stool in the elf's direction with his foot.
"So, what d' ye know o' Undermountain? Ye been in there afore?"

Typical Cathmhaol, thought Zeric. Gruff and to the point... if his manner was likely to scare off potential allies, they're probably the kind we could do without.
He studied the stranger, observing how he reacted to Cath and the group at large. Then he turned his attention to the wizard. Was he typical of the breed? Bookworm - neurotic about his spellbook and the secret ways of the mage?
Zeric thanked the Gods he walked a different path; his direct drawing of the magical energies from The Weave suited his maverick nature. There was more style, more panache to the sorceror's magic. Still, the wizard would come in handy - if he had the requisite command of his art to be much good in Undermountain...

"Ive been down in the well with a couple of groups over the last two years. The Company of the Silver Spear adventured last year in the ruins, we were ported down to the second level. Ran afoul of some, undead, lost a few members before we made our way back up to the well. The game in Undermountain is to expect a loss, there are what 7 or 8 of you. Id say one of you will not return.
The second time I went in with the Green Brigade, we found evidence that the Metal Mage had moved yup to the 1st level. If he's still there it will be difficult for you." he shrugged in a non committal manner

Zeric broke his silence, "You speak of the Metal Mage? What can you tell us of him... or her?"

"He's one of the Mad Mages apprentices, powerful. Very powerful. Could be in the top 10 wizards in the realms, if not top 20. Has a loving of metal manipulation magic and like H, completely insane and utterly evil. Watch out for golems and their ilk. " the tracker said matter-of -factly

The smelly Dwarf sat at the table, only half paying attention to the conversation going on around him. The other half of his attention was wondering when there would be either fighting or drinking to be done...
Rumbleskin's thoughts ran along the lines of 'Well. looks like we be goin' back into th' ground again to fight insurmountable odds in a vain attempt to save the world from a jumped up Ghekko. Still, could be worse. I could be forced to do shopping or singing or somat... I prefer a straight fight anyway. As for these new people... well, I guess I'm an old new person too, so why worry about forming an opinion right now. The others'll have a say and I kin make my own mind up as we go...'

As the others are talking Milo's eyes keep getting wider.
"You mean it's really true, you're going down the well? And you'll let me join you? I'll get to see adventures for real and not just hear about them? REALLY?
I've got my golden lion ready for the payment. I've been saving it ever since I first earnt it. I've dreamt of this day for so long. I don't have all my stuff with me but it'll only take about an hour for me to get it from my lodgings. And I've been preparing useful spells ever since Mr. Garri first told me he knew some people who might actually be going down the well."
If Milo got any more excited the group guess that he'd actually start hugging them.
