Magical Items
Introduction
This was stolen from HArv's Baord and my evil realms game there. I realised Inever piut a note what I do with items here. Realms game will realise that all my magical items are unique and have their own personal history and descriptions. To work out the History and the powers of a magical item, you'll need a detect magic spell and an identify spell (or the more powerful Legend Lore - these can be paid for or a wizard/Sorcerer can learn them). All magic items will be described in this way, normally a description at first then more as spells etc are cast on them. I will also throw in unique non magical items as well, to throw doubt into the mix as well. Though with both clerics and wizards having detect magic, there you should be able to cast it fairly frequently.
This works in practice like so:
For example a longsword +1 may be described in the following ways
Gallagher's Blade
This longsword was made by person's unknown, but rose to prominence in the hands of the Bard Gallagher Mohanen. He was well known for singing all over the Moonsea, gaining entry into Zhentil keep and Mulmaster by his charm and wits. Playing to filled taverns, earning a decent living. Given his notoriety he was often attacked on leaving the taverns, his skill and the magic of the blade keeping him alive. The Blade has a chip out of its edge, caused by the Assassin, Devlan. Who Gallagher killed on the Streets of Mulmaster. The blade disapeared after Gallagher was found dead in Battledale, some 5 winters ago.
Blue Blade of Bemystic
This blade was made by the mage, Bemystic, some 40 winters ago in the country of Damara. Forged in a unique way the metal of the blade is a metallic blue colour and seems to shimmer in the light. Unfortunately the blade seems to bring bad luck to the bearer of the weapon. After its forging, Bemystic, died in unexpected circumstances and everyone else who has possessed the blade has died. The Blade was last seen in the hands of the Ogre, Crenth, in the Stonelands a couple of winters back.
