Cathmhaol drained his ale and put his tankard down on the bar. "Aye," he said, "I'll ha' another. Not sure yer lightweights here are ready yet, though."

Zeric shook his head, thinking to himself, "So, it's going to be one of those nights again, is it...?"
He held the brandy tumbler between cupped palms, letting the heat in his hands warm the spirit, breathing in the warming aroma that brought the hint of pears to his nostrils.
He continued scanning the inn's patrons, seeking familiar or even unfamiliar faces that may be paying just a little too close attention to the newly-arrived travellers.

<Rumbleskin>
Rather uncharacteristically for the Dwarf, he didn't seem overly interested in quaffing copious amounts of alcohol this night. Downing the contents of his tankard in one go and letting forth a hearty belch, Rumbleskin stood up (not that that was noticeable from the difference in head height) and said: "I've a mind t' stretch me legs an' have a walk about yon City O' Splendours. Any o' ye wish to tag along, grand. O'erwise I'll be seein' ye back here later..."

OOC: I was thinking about cutting up Prosper Street onto Snail Street. then heading up Fillet Lane before hanging a left onto The Way of The Dragon.
The destination there is to spend some time having a wander along the Street of Smiths to see if I can find any other Dwarves - Dwarves who may know what befell Clan Ironeater perhaps...
Once Rumblie has satisfied himself there, it's right onto The High Road and head to the Adventurer's quarter for a mooch about and see what the latest news from Hafar is before heading back to teh Warm Beds (tm)

"I'd love t' join ye," said Cathmhaol, "but frankly I can't be arsed." He grinned at the dwarf. "If'n yer out an' about, see what ye can find out if there's anythin' happenin' around town that we oughta be aware o'."
He raised his re-filled tankard in salute and turned to the rest of the Daggers. "So what are ye lads doin', eh?"

The sorceror retired to a seat by the fireplace, nursing his brandy and once more assessing the place's patrons. He'd learned that such places invariably held more than one whose tongues could be loosened by the liberal application of ale and company.
OOC: Basically, he's looking around to see the locals. Looking for those who are likely to be givers of information about the local situation and especially to any rumours of a "lizard king..."

As Rumbleskin wandered off up the street, the rest of the Daggers entered the Warm Beds Inn. The noise from the Inn could be heard by the dwarf still on the street. The tap room of the Warm Beds Inn, is a noisy yet cozy place to be. The bustling room is full of a mixed crowd for the middle of the day. Travellers, merchants, officers from naval and merchant ships, even adventurers all congregated around the bar at the far end of the room. Reaching for his brandy, Zeric listened to conversations. Talk of trouble around Daggerford was never far away from peoples lips. Gossip of a Lizard King, approaching the town his troops led by diabolical lieutenants. Though the lieutenants, were unnamed and had unknown abilities. A number of other discussions were based around Undermountain and its depths, suggestions that the Cult of the Dragon had set up somewhere in the labyrinth were commonly suggested or that there had been many incursions into the dungeon within the last ten days. Dozens of people entering in through the Yawning Portal Inn, none have yet returned. About 40 minutes or so passed until Rumbleskin returned to the Inn. OOC- Im letting Rumbleskin return. Ill mail you with what you found out Edd. I just want ot get this going....

Zeric took his brandy and walked over to a table that seemed alive with talk of the Lizard King, "Well Met goodmen and wives. I am Zeric, late of Daggerford. I could not help but overhear talk of trouble in that town... May join you?"

Cathmhaol sat at the bar, nursing his beer. He let the conversation in the bar wash over him, picking out the bits that interested him, though most of it just seemed to be typical peasants rumours.
He saw the dwarf re-enter the bar and signalled the barman to pour another round of drinks. "Well," he said to the dwarf, "What did ye find out?"

The rusty dwarf barrelled into the tap room, stumbling over the thresh-hold. Flushing a bright beet red behind his beard in embarrasment, Rumbleskin made his way - carefully - to the bar and climbed the stool next to Cath's. Rumbleskin nodded gratefully at the proffered drink and responded to Cath's question with "Well, th' place be bigger than 'twas, that's fer sure!". Rumbleskin took a mighty quaff from the tankard, smacked his lips and assumed 'the pose' at the bar (You know the one... slouching comfortably on the bar stool, elbow on the bar, feet resting on whatever is convenient...). OOC: I'll let you know just as soon as I get that e-mail from Paul

I could not help but overhear talk of trouble in that town... May join you?" "Join in all you want friend, I think youll need to be sitting here a long time. The feeling here in Waterdeep is that Daggerford and its surroundings are doomed. The Lords dont have any resources to send to Daggerford, though Im sure that every money grabbing, thrill seeking, fame hunting advenbturer will be heading in that direction over the next month or so." replied a burly hairy armed man sat at the table. "Im Verson and this is my wife, Katina."
