Born in the village of Westview, some 30 miles north of Waterdeep Throgbur cuts an imposing figure. Well over six feet tall he is powerfully built and exceptionally ugly, even by Half-Orc standards. He tends to wear leather and/or hides with big heavy boots and carries a huge greataxe wherever he goes.
His brother's name is Zeric, a sorceror. (19 years old, Human. Thin, weedy, pale pasty, but handsome -think "Morpheus" without the hairspray!!) He dresses in leather trews and studded jerkin, carrying a shortspear and a concealed dagger as a holdout weapon (although his main defence is his 1/2-orc twin brother, Throgbur.)
Zeric's really quite lazy when it comes to physical labour, a fact lamented by more than one sergeant. He is, however, an extremely likeable fellow, which has kept him out of serious trouble on more occasions than he'd (or Throgbur would) care to remember.
Throgbur is the product of a rape by an orc shaman when Zeric's mother was in the early stages of pregnancy. Born on the same day, they were proclaimed twins, although they are quite possibly the strangest twins anyone in the Realms has ever encountered.
Throgbur faced a great deal of prejudice growing up, due to his orc heritage. He has not let this colour him, however, remaining essentially a good person, determined not to go the path of the orc.
This also lends a lot of credence to his dire hatred of Orcs. He will literally go out of his way to slay them if at all possible, except where his brother’s safety is concerned. This is something of a major personality flaw as it could land him in exceedingly hot water.
Throgbur is respectful to others, where they give respect and dotes on his frail twin brother, lending him his own strength where required. Zeric has been known to take full advantage of his brother's good nature, often pleading "fatigue" when faced with chores, manipulating Throgbur into performing Zeric's own chores.
Throgbur also has a terribly short fuse and a nasty, violent, explosive temper, something else which his dear brother uses to his advantage.
Seeking to make a name for themselves and resolved never to return until they had riches enough that they could buy the small hamlet, the brothers travelled from Westview to Waterdeep, where they hired on as guards for a merchant train and headed south on the Coast Road. After a short period of employment which led to Throgbur and Zeric being robbed in the night of their purses, they fled with their weapons and the clothes on their backs just as the first snows were falling. Arriving in Daggerford, the brothers became aware that the Daggerford Militia was hiring. Left with no option but a cold Northern winter, destitute, the young men applied and were assigned to the Militia's Misfits, spending the winter months cleaning and performing other menial tasks.
Current Update:
Throgbur has been charmed by the followers of Sssakathka. It has been reported that he is Sssakathka's greatest warrior.
