We could crreate a wiki thing as they are all the rage! Those are actually really good for collaborative writing; its like a collective notepad. It's only shit if someone keeps overwriting everyone

Traveller is wiki'd up the arse! Plus, there are any number of pedantic bastards out there that will give you a thirty-page diatribe as to why you couldn't skim a gas giant for fuel in ships of that design.
However....
If we made one for OUR Traveller universe, that might be a different matter...
We could call it the Crescent Moon Trading Company Traveller Wiki (or something less cumbersome) and chronicle our characters and the places we've been and things that have happened to the ship and crew.
It has loads of scope. It wouldn't exclusively be for me to decide on such things as planetary details; we could all contribute a world description and I could stick them in a random subsector somewhere (do a map and suchlike) and we could pick world, name them and play from that.
The only proviso is that the existing worlds would have to be ported in there.
We could establish the whole thing from political and organisations, military and merchant companies of note, etc. Let it all grow organically as our imaginations took flight...
What do you guys think?
How do you go about setting up a Wiki? And can you restrict access for editing/creating pages to named individuals?

Well it was a throwaway idea and I did a quick search on the wiki to see what came up. But I wouldnt want loads of anal wankers, telling us that our campaign is not cannon because of some spurious reason that didn't fit. I have found some free wiki's Im sure we could use them or something! www.wikispaces.com/pbwiki.com/www.seedwiki.com/

I'll have a look and see what they're like and I suggest that we all do so... It'll help if we could all have something we could be happy working with. I like the idea. Anal assholes can be banned, I think (?) I like the idea of a sci-fi universe that is a mish-mash of our collective ideas and also that has some internal consistency...
