Eneval responded I also must rest if I am to call upon the mothers grace this day
With alarming speed, the elf appeared to slip into a deep sleep.

Cathmhaol rubbed his eyes blearily and pushed himself up from his blankets. "Are ye sure it's time?" he asked grumpily.
He shook his head and shrugged his shoulders in a bid to get the blood flowing. He nudged Delora with his foot, "C'mon girl, time t' be up an' about." Ignoring her muffled complaints, he went to look out of the window.
"Any signs o' trouble?" he asked.

Retro-post before Dace turned in
"No, boss." Dace shook his head, yawning. The caravan guard looked a little fraught, stretched out, kind of worn. "Nothing. It's like they disappeared."

"OK, get some sleep!" said Cathmhaol and climbed the stairs to take a look out of the first floor windows.

As he looked through the window, the fresh night air brought Cathmhaol fully awake. The shadow creatures were back in the treeline, only affording an occasional glimpse of their movement.
As Delora moved up to join him, he quietly nodded in the direction of the other side of the inn, indicating she should keep watch there.
As the night drew on, Cathmhaol remembered the many other nights he had stood the late watch and the many people he shared that time with. Astrid - the wife of guard-captain Gorand who had died in the border incursions; Gorand - who drank himself to death because he could not live without his wife, Ceric - the young mercenary, who died holding his riven guts and crying for his mother, Darrell - the young thief who Cathmhaol had promised to look after but who had died on Baron Quetor's gallows whilst Cathmhaol was forced to watch... and his recent companions, Garion, Bregl and Arib... ... Cathmhaol's head jerked up, movement in the corner of his eye. Cursing himself, he leaned out of the window, trying to see what had caught his eye and broken him from his meanderings.
Quietly, quickly, he stepped across the room and into the room opposite. Slumped against the window ledge was Delora and his heart sank, thinking he had lost another companion until he he heard the soft susseration of her sleep. "Wake up,girl!" he said sharply, his voice barely more than a whisper, "We've got company!"
He looked out the window as the shamefaced girl spluttered an apology, and saw the shadow creatures milling around the door and windows, as if trying to find a way in. "Fetch me a torch," he ordered the girl, "An' be quick about it! Let's see what's these beasts make o' fire!"

"Oh my word, I must have dropped off. Who or what is it?" spluttered the girl
"Rigt away, Cath, right away" the girl jumped to her feet, grabbing a torch that was in their pile of belongings . Striking a flint a few times the torch comes alight quickly.
"Here you go" she says handing the torch to the warrior

OOC: That's a great post, Phil! Have a karma... OOC: Cheers! Cathmhaol took the torch, being careful to keep it low so the light didn't spill from the window and alert the creatures below. "Get downstairs an' wake the others!" he whispered to Delora, "Tell 'em to keep quiet an' standfast 'til I gi' the word! Ye've got one minute then I'm gonna talk t' these beasts an' see what they want!"He waited for 60 seconds, then raised the torch out of the window. He peered over the edge carefully and said, "What d' ye skulkin' bastards want, eh?"

OOC: twas a brilliant post I also added a Karma or two or more..
Delora ran down the stairs, stopping at Dace first "Dace Cath needs you the shadows are breaking in. " she said gently hoping to wake him up.
Then she went to the dwarf, "'Skin Im afraid those creatures are waking up, Cath needs you upstairs" Again as quietly as possible.
Then Zeric "Zeric, I know youll be in a terrible mood, but Cath needs you. He asked me to wake you up. That shadows are coming." she said
Then finally the elf "Um excuse me sir, we are requested upstairs. Those shadow things are coming."

Zeric rubbed his scratchy eyes, feeling as though they were full of grit. His mood was foul. He turned a gaze full of ice and loathing upon the young woman, then thought better of it, " Never mind..." He tried to access the Weave, hoping against hope that enough time had passed for him to have replenished access to his magic. " Where is the buffoon then, Delora?" Zeric asked, his tone milder and filled with what passed for a humorous tone. OOC: Are they breaking the door down? No! Then why am I awake?

Eneval awoke to the sound of the young human girl. Looking in her eyes he felt great compassion.
This one was so young but had clearly known more grief than the mother would wish bestowed upon a child.
He rose quickly to his feet, feeling the blessing of the mother returning to him.
"Of course young lady, I am at your service."

Awake and sharp in an instant, the former caravan guard was up and blinking as Delora left him. Shoving home both swords, Dace jogged over to Cathmhaol and peered out of the window.
"Could be worse." grunted Dace.

The creatures look up at the Waterdhavian warrior brandishing the torch in the window of Inn. Their eyes almost lighting up at the thought of fresh warm bodies, trapped inside a building with no where to go. Then start to attack the wooden door of the Inn
OOC- Sorry missed that bit

Dace sighed.
"It's worse."
He jogged downstairs toward the door, both swords out and preparing for an assault.

Watching the commotion around him and sensing the enemy at their door, Eneval bowed his head in prayer.
In deep concentration, he began to call the blessing of the mother upon himself and his allies.
