OOC- hes a big boy.....
The way I see it you have three lines of enquiry. The Heralds Union, to register your company/fellowship/whatever The Baroness will need to be accompanied home The disapearance of the boys will need to be investigated & find the missing Red Wizard. I guess you could get some payment from Darryl if you persauded him.
Darryl pulled a seat over to where you are seated. "So I better 'fess up. Hadnt I?" He smiled

Darryl drank from his flagon of "Old One Eye", sat up in his chair and said "Now here's what I know, young men have been disapearin' over the last couple of months. Not regularly, most of them from the Inns and Taverns in Daggerford. Two nights ago, Talf and Ellonn went missing from here. For a number of the young men it was the final straw and I overheard a group of young men talk about gettin' their own back."
He stopped took another sip of the spicey beer before continuing. "The young men were led by a lad called Ibron. He's a blacksmith for Oleg, so Id start with him. I didnt want to 'fess the lads up, but my Inn's at stake now. So Im tellin' you all. If you can help me out Ill happily pay for your time. Shall we say a hundred gold pieces each?"

Zeric looked to Cathmhaol, raising an eyebrow in subtle enquiry at the price the innkeeper had offered, "My colleague and I shall discuss the matter. If you will excuse us?"
Taking a few steps away from the innkeeper, he asked Cathmhaol, "What do you think? If he's offering a hundred, he'll probably go higher, but at the same time, there's a reputation to be established... Maybe accepting his first offer along with the condition that, if we're successful, he recommends us to anyone in need of 'specialist talents'...?"

"Darryl's a good lad an' I don't want us t' be gettin' a reputation o' screwin' people when they're down on their luck", said Cathmhaol quietly, "I say we accept his offer an' he puts the word out about us"."We ain't much time an' there's a lot t' do", he continued, "so what say we split up? Throg can go talk t' the rest o' the Misfits and get 'em t' join up. We'll send 'em back w' the Baroness if we don't get ourselves sorted afore we need t' go. Zeric - ye can go sort out the paperwork w' the Union an' get us registered - Cromm's Dagger, eh Garri? - an' I'll take the lad here an' go talk to Ibron an' see what he knows".He looked at Zeric, Throgbur and Garri, "Are we in agreement?"OOC: Given Tom's absense, I thought if we go off and do different things, we can keep the game ticking over til he gets back. Everyone ok with this? Particularly you, Mr DM?!

OOC-Thats cool. This latest scenario should be easily completed without a magic user. So if you get that far, it will be cool. I migh do an aside with Zeric, if it goes that far.
I thought that Cromm's Daggers was good woke up with that idea, one morning.
"Aye Cromm's Daggers, Boss. Maybe we can carry special daggers or somethin'. Eh? Replied the enthusiastic rogue. "I ken Oleg, I ran afoul of him when I was theiving. Im sure he does nea ha' gid things tae say boot me."
OOC2 - He's turning scots....

"Aye lad, sommat like that", said Cathmhaol, shaking his head at the youngster's exuberance.
He drained his drink and stood up. "Right, I'll see ye in two hours. Ye know what t' do", he instructed Zeric and Throgbur. He lead the young thief out of the inn and in the direction of the blacksmith.
"So lad, apart from Oleg wantin' t' kick yer arse f' thievin' from the smithy, what else d' ye know about him?"

"Nah, I wouldnae sae he wanted to kick my arse. Hes a bit o' a gentle giant really. In fact it has been known fer the younger kids to throw rotten fruit an' veggies a' him an' hes never got angry. I once stole a couple o' knives fae him and he caught me. Suspended me upside doon before shopping me tae the watch. Took back the knives, tho' ken. His work is rumoured tae be dead guid, I know some of those adventuring types love tae get their weapons fae him. Boss, ye could ask him tae make special daggers fae ye', ken?" The youngster skipped along merrily beside Cath, completely oblivious to the older man's sarcasm.

"Don't forget we've a couple o' jobs t' do first, youngster. Let's get them out o' the way afore we start showerin' ourselves in baubles, eh?" said Cathmhaol, chuckling softly.
As they approached the blacksmith's he continued, "Ye know the lad, so ye keep a close eye on him. If'n he's tryin' to mislead us or is holdin' something back, ye just give me a sign, yeah?" Garri nodded in agreement.
Cathmhaol pushed open the door to the smithy, the heat from the forge a welcome contrast to the cool day outside. "How are ye, Oleg?", he greeted the Smith, shaking him by his firm, meaty hand. "If it's alright with ye, can I have a wee word with Ibron?"

The large half orc smiled showing a large singular tusk at the right hand side of his mouth. Grasping Cathmhaol's hand tightly he responded. "Well met, my friend. Id be careful of ze freinds you keep, zo."
"Yah, you can speak to him. He is out za back. I shall call him. I do not trust ze zeef" the large half orc said. "IBRAAAAAAWN. You get your sorry excuse for an arz out front, young man" Shouted the smith. A clanking noise is heard from the back room as some armour and swords clatter to the floor. "BOSS" Shouts Garri "He's running down Guild Alley." as the young theif starts running after the young labourer.

"DAMN!" cursed Cathmhaol.
He waved the youngster after the fleeing Ibron, "Get after him, Garri! Make sure ye don't lose him! I'll cut him off!"
As the young thief hared off, Cathmhaol thought quickly. "Where does he live?" he asked Oleg.

"He lives in ze room in Bjorn's Tenements in ze Money Quarter, why that boy run?" replied the half orc "Oi getdown theif" shouted the smith _______________________________
Garri punted himself up on the roof of the smithy and ran along the roof edge of the buildings into Guild Alley. The alley itself was more a road with its paving stones and brick buildings. Two stories up, Garri found the advantage of being able to watch his prey lessened as the Alley opened on to the Pratcie Feild for the militia. Unable to get down quickly enough from his vantage point, he lost the tall labourer as he ran across the field into more alleys in the Riverman's Quarter. Kicking the ground at his bad luck, the youngster returned to Cathmhaol some 20 or so minutes later _______________________________ "SoryBoss, lost him in the Riverman's Quarter, what next?" Enquired the out of breath theif.

OOC: Where's the Riverman's quarter in relation to the money quarter?
Is there a thieves guild in town?
Does Oleg know who Ibron's mates are?

Cathmhaol shook his head, "Damn fool lad, we're tryin' t' help him!"
"Oleg," he said, turning back to the blacksmith, "I need t' speak to Ibron urgently, he's got himself mixed up in some serious stuff. D' ye know who his mates are?"
