Zeric shook his head to clear the ringing left from the lightning bolt. He looked around, assessing the place for escape routes, wishing Cathmhaol had made it here as the warrior's superior knowledge of extrication from combats would be useful, especially if what he suspected was true, was the case.

Rumbleskin suppressed the shudders running through his battered system, focused on the nearby orcs and tried to charge, not yet realising that parts of his armour had been fused.
His bellow of "Iirrrooonnneeaaattteeerrrr!!" was cut off mid-yell as the dwarf became entangled in his armour and fell with a resounding thud on the clearing floor...

Milo stared at the billowing green clouds to the north in awe. Finally driven to terseness he offers "If that presages what I think it portents I can grant one person some resistance to it's breath but I fear we must flee. Protect me as I study these symbols."
Then Milo turned back and studied the symbols on the nearby stones.
OOC: yes that is terse for Milo He'll look at all the stones he can but he wont risk attacks by the orcs that are left.

Zeric found himself in the unusual situation of being in complete and unreserved agreement with the mage, "The halfling's right; yon mist's dragonbreath and I for one don't want to find out if we can survive its effects. We must retreat and seek another option. Cathmhaol and the others are old enough and ugly enough to fend for themselves. We must look to our own salvation, for my magics cannot protect us. Retreat!"

Zeric, almost, but not quite as an afterthought, added, addressing the man who'd dispatched the mage, "Well met, stranger an' thanks. Come, join us in glorious retreat and we'll serve up some introductions provided we've still the spark o' life to do so!"

OOC: Okay, sorry forgot about them... I'll amend as follows...
Zeric took a glance at the approaching gas cloud, assessing the risk of it catching them, versus the threat the remaining orcs posed.
"Form up for a fighting retreat!" he bellowed to the others, trying to match Cathmhaol's commanding tone, and falling far short, he knew.
He whistled to direct the celestial dog to begin harrying attacks upon the orcs, striking as wolves would, nip and dodge, nip and dodge... Mentally he recalled the Tressym and began preparing to draw upon The Weave.

The normally taciturn caravan guard smiled in spite of himself at Maylene's quip and nodded toward the nearest cluster of Orcs, drawing a pair of throwing daggers and hurling them at any within range. Keeping his position above the prone Halfling, Dace continued weaving his swords in an intricate pattern, hoping to keep the enemy at bay whilst the others prepared themselves for the coming battle.
"Someone help the Halfling." he snarled, eyes flicking each way as he prepared to meet any oncoming foe. OOC:
I think you can still use Dace's original post, but let me know if you want me to change it.
